RIOT Application:
Name: Clint AKA Dethbringer
RL Age: 28
Class and Spec, Are you willing to change specs for specific fights?: Survival Hunter/BM Hunter/MM Hunter (currently SV/BM from leveling, but happy to switch to whatever)
Professions, why did you choose these professions?: JC/BS - For the raiding Benefits, two extra gems, and extra sockets. (Have not yet leveled BS, that is my next work in progress)
Armory Link of your main toon and your lvl 85 alt toons:
us.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Dethbringer/simple
Previous Raiding Experience, please be very detailed:
Vanilla Wow - Raided all content (MC/BWL/AQ/Nax) - 40 man raids, DPS, Cleared through 1st two wings of Nax before BC came out.
Burning Crusade - All raid content cleared through Sunwell, Sunwell started pre nerf, and last two bosses finished post nerf.
WotLk - All raid content cleared through Lk w/ exception of HM LK
Cataclysm - Raided through all tier 1 raids nm, and was working on HM t1 raids when Aeternus fell apart. At this time decided to break from raiding (5 years hardcore raiding burnout)
During the wow break also raided in Rift, SWtoR, and tried GW2 (but it sucked)
Just came back after about 1.5 years of no wow raiding to check out MOP. Have cleared the LFR version of Mogushan Vaults. Am currently working on gearing up.
Previous Guilds (why did you leave?):
E Pluribus Unum (EPU) - guild broke up somewhat in TBC left to join Sick
Sick - Guild broke up working on LK progression (mostly burnout and poor attendance after hardcore progression in TBC)
Malevolency - Guild broke up working on HLK progression (again, mostly poor attendance and burnout)
Aeternus - Guild broke up when guild leader and officers got burnt out working on early cata HM progression (still technically tagged, but guild is DEAD)
Do you know any current Riot members that would vouche for you?: Not sure who all is on the roster these days, but any longer term Dunemaul vets may remember me.
Availability (7:30pm - 11:59pm Tues/Weds/Thurs), can you make all of these days and times? If need be can you make additional days and times with sufficient notice[during progression for exmaple]: Should not be a problem, may occasionally be a night where I have to work late, but notice would be given.
Rough description of your system[CPU/RAM/Graphics Card]: 3.6 GHZ AMD Phenom 2, 8GB Ram, Radeon HD 5700 series

Do you have a working mic, are you mic shy? Yes, and not shy
Why Riot?: I am used to being in the top tier of raiding guilds on the server, moreso I see you need a hunter based on your wow progress listing... Plus I am sure I will end up knowing some of you guys.
If you arena what is your average arena rating? N/A
How do you prepare for a new encounter? What online resources do you use besides Tankspot to prep yourself for raid night? Depends on how long the fight has been out... If the encounters are brand new, then mostly beta forums, and discussion threads (EJ, WOW Forums), youtube, etc...
Link your most recent logs showing your DPS/HPS on a few fights? I have not really been logging in LFR/Heroics or at least not keeping them. AOE has been around 50-60k as SV, and ST between 35k, and 45k single target (#s really vary at this point due to lack of grp synergy, consumable use, and not really caring too much in general about the groups I have been in)
What mods do you use? Why do you use these mods? DBM is the most relevant mod because it has good info and warnings for boss encounters, other UI customizations to allow for better view of encounters/buffs/HP/CDs
The guild is working on downing a new boss, you have 90% attendance, then all of a sudden the raid leader cuts you from the raid because he wants to try out a certain raid composition. How would you react? No problem, nothing is more exciting than a new boss kill, but if I am the "3rd wheel" and someone can do a better job or needs my spot to make it work, then so be it. Just so long as it's not every time we hit that encounter =p
What do you do to prevent yourself from dying to mechanics like Void Zones, Brain Links, or Legion Flame? And take this question very seriously. Many of the hardest encounters in this game require you to stick to your rotation while keeping mobile. "LOL I DUNNO I MOVE OUT OF THEM" is not an answer. I have my rotation bound to the 12 keys on my mouse, so keeping the rotation up on the fly is pretty simple. The actual reaction depends on the mechanic... If I will require constant movement, stance dance to AotF and keep moving while keeping up my rotation (until next patch!), oterwise, if it's quick movement, just work with instant casts while moving, and then resume normal rotations.
Post a picture of your UI (even better, post a pic of your UI with recount showing your DPS/Heal meter). Give us a brief explanation of your UI, do you set up your UI so that it makes it easier for you to notice encounter debuffs, or void zones, or fire? UI is set up to be able to see my character and surroundings, dps meters, buffs/debuffs on boss, and buffs/debuffs on me.
Once you are finished filling out this application, if you are tagged as an initiate member of Riot, please go to the next section below and read the sticky in the Request Forum Membership section, and post a request.
