RIOT Application:
Name: Nik
RL Age: 18
Class and Spec, Are you willing to change specs for specific fights?: Elemental shaman/ resto shaman. Between the two yes, I have no enhancement gear.
Professions, why did you choose these professions?: Leatherworking and Skinning. This was my first toon, I heard it was easiest to level with those as I could make armor for myself.
Armory Link of your main toon and your lvl 85 alt toons:
us.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Zenato/simple
us.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Zakanto/simple
(I have other 85's, but they have zero end game gear)
Previous Raiding Experience, please be very detailed:
Previous Guilds (why did you leave?): Purple Stuff, Nurv, Unrivaled Titans
All of them were good but lacked a strong PVP core. UT was the only guild that actually was committed to raiding and did more than one heroic fight. However UT is a deaf guild and I feel that communication can be a huge benefit; ie pvp.
Do you know any current Riot members that would vouche for you?: none that I know personally, but I'm sure some know me.
Availability (7:30pm - 11:59pm Tues/Weds/Thurs), can you make all of these days and times? If need be can you make additional days and times with sufficient notice[during progression for exmaple]: I am sure I can make all these times (if it is server times).
Rough description of your system[CPU/RAM/Graphics Card]: quad core 2.5GHZ, 8GB RAM with 2GB dedicated to the NVIDA GeForce card. I am running on an Acer Aspire.

Do you have a working mic, are you mic shy?
I have a working mic, however ventrillo has been giving me some problems in the past, I can hear fine and skype works perfectly.
Why Riot?: From many top end players I hear that they are the place to be. On wow-Heroes Riot is very high on completion and the fact that you do pvp and pve.
If you arena what is your average arena rating? On my rsham and Disc Priest I have full 403 gear and have hit 1550 ratting on every team, just I have never had a dedicated partner to really push onwards. My highest ratting was just under 1700. If I had a dedicated partner I could hit 2k, of that I have no doubt.
How do you prepare for a new encounter? What online resources do you use besides Tankspot to prep yourself for raid night? Read forums, ask people who have already done it, and yes I do watch fights online (fatboss for example). I also check to see if my glyphs and talents are helpful for the fight and change them If they are not. I also stock up on potions and flasks and food for the extra buffs.
Link your most recent logs showing your DPS/HPS on a few fights?
I have not done pve dps or HPS in the last few weeks, as PVP is my main focus. However if you need to see them message me in game and I will run something for you. I only have my resto spec set up to be able to pve at the moment.
What mods do you use? Why do you use these mods?
Clique, Grid, Interrupt Bars, Gladius, GladiatorLOSSA, Recount. THey all help me in pvp combat. I also used DMB when I pve'd. And I always use catbars to help mitigate the time lost from latency so I can always be casting.
The guild is working on downing a new boss, you have 90% attendance, then all of a sudden the raid leader cuts you from the raid because he wants to try out a certain raid composition. How would you react?
I would be angry that I can no longer progress with the raid and I would see if I could get back in with another raid team. However It is disappointing when you cannot progress because of something you have no control over. Alas however, I would realize that no matter what I wont be able to stay and that leaving so the raid could continue is what must and will happen. In essence I would get over it.
What do you do to prevent yourself from dying to mechanics like Void Zones, Brain Links, or Legion Flame? And take this question very seriously. Many of the hardest encounters in this game require you to stick to your rotation while keeping mobile. "LOL I DUNNO I MOVE OUT OF THEM" is not an answer.
DMB alerts me as to when these zones will be appearing so the best course of action as a elemental shammy is to (if dps is crucial ie:burn phase) pop spirt walkers grace and run out of the zone while continuing dps. Or use ghost wolf and run out of it.
Post a picture of your UI (even better, post a pic of your UI with recount showing your DPS/Heal meter). Give us a brief explanation of your UI, do you set up your UI so that it makes it easier for you to notice encounter debuffs, or void zones, or fire? MY UI is basically the blizzard defualt with all of my addons off to the side or off the screen. IE: grid I move to where the defualt raid frames are, and cast bars is right above my action bars. Leaving the entire center of my screen uncluttered and able to be easily maneuvered.
